My name is Laryssa Filatov
I’m a Fibers artist and Illustrator
based in Boston, MA
I Graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration and a minor in Fibers.
My current favorite theme I am exploring is obsessive repetition. My senior thesis was based on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and repetitive art.
I explored the repetition of a date stamp and ink as a medium for portraits, as well as creating mandalas and mixed media pieces.
I love an artistic challenge, especially when it comes to mixing mediums. Some mediums I am currently appreciating are rolling papers with markers, and weaving with q-tips.
My favorite things are covering surfaces in crochet, yummy food, cats, and friends :).
